Tulips

Last weekend, Gavin and I went to go see the Tulip festival. It was a gorgeous day out and we had so much fun. When you drive to go see them you can see fields of color in the distance. It was absolutely beautiful. (Pictures don't do it justice!) Gavin's favorite color is red, so he loved the red tulips. There are a few advantages to living in the Northwest... :)

There is always a reason...

Many of you know that we experienced some snow last Saturday. Seeing it is APRIL, the snowstorms were totally unexpected...

Well on Tuesday, I went to my MOPS group and a lady came to speak to us about grace. She began to tell us a story about how her step-son had been in and out of drug rehab facilities 3-4 different times. He had just checked himself into another rehab last week. His dad came to visit him and his son began to tell him why he thought none of the other rehab facilities had been able to help him. He said the first step to the twelve steps of recovery was to believe in a higher power and he didn't. He knew since he just checked into a new place, and they were going to come at him with the "higher power" thing. He said to God, "If you are real, if you exist make it hail on my birthday. No, that's too easy. Make it snow on my birthday."

Well, his birthday was Saturday.

God is so amazing! I was complaining about the snow, but there is a reason for everything. :) You never know how a trial or a difficult time can influence someone else. Remember to praise God in every situation because he knows best!

Our Vegas Trip

Man we look good! :)

I have the most gorgeous sisters! I miss you guys!

I still can't believe Kellie is 21...I'm officially getting old.

Entertaining ourselves while waiting for our cheese fries...

Our Vegas trip started out great! The weather was awesome and we enjoyed some shopping and just being together. Then it all went downhill...Mom got sick, then Brandon, Kellie, me then Gavin. We definitely need to "re-do" the trip! Even though we were all sick, I loved being back with my family. I miss you all terribly and can't wait until we all live close together again.

Best Friends Forever!

The kids having fun at the Seattle Children's Museum.

Good byes are never fun! :(

Brandon took the kids for a walk to escape the sicky house.

Some quality time with Grammy...So cute!

Watch out!

It's always exciting in the life of Gavin...

Tonight he decided to put his entire hand on the stove top while I was cooking... Poor little thing got a second degree burn, but is hanging in there. He has been a real trooper and hopefully will never do that again!!!

P.S. Check back in a few days and I will post some new pics of Gavin and Scooch on our trip to Vegas... Don't have time now...have to check on Gav. :(

Inspired...

I have to write a 30 page paper for one of my final classes for my Bachelor's Degree. I have been stewing over what to write about, not really feeling passionate about any particular topic.
I have finally decided to write about the impact of global warming and the importance of living "green." I am going to propose to incorporate these ideas into the school's curriculum. I have just begun the research process and rented the movie "An Inconvenient Truth" by Al Gore. I had heard good things about the movie, but didn't really know what to expect. It was incredible!!! I am completely inspired by the movie, and feel more passionate than ever about this issue. Al Gore does an excellent job outlining the facts of global warming and the ever changing impact it has on our Earth.

If you haven't seen this movie...GO SEE IT!!! :)

Boys will be boys...

Gavin decided at the beginning of the week to stick something up his nose (without me knowing it!) I noticed his nose was hurting him at the beginning of the week, but I thought it was just sore from being runny all the time. I asked him about it and he kept telling me "there was a part of his bed in his nose..." I didn't really get what he meant, and I couldn't see anything in his nose, so I didn't think anything else about it.

Well, two nights ago after a very long day of training and traffic, I got home and noticed Gavin smelled a little weird and his nostril was a little red and goopy. I was changing him in his room, and I saw a small piece of foam on his floor. All of a sudden, it all clicked. Gavin has a foam egg crate on his bed, and last weekend we moved his room around. He must have found a piece of it on the floor and stuck it in his nose!! Joe and I tried to hold him down and get it out, but we couldn't even see it. So we headed to the ER...

After about three hours of waiting and two people holding him down- they managed to get a piece of foam (about the size of a quarter) out of his nose...

Oh the joys of being a parent...:)

What's The Problem, Mommy???

I have been meaning to post this picture for a while....

While visiting California over Christmas time, Gavin was up in my mom's roommates room "taking a nap" or so we thought. He was very quiet for a few hours, and I asked Joe to go check on him. After Joe screamed for me, I sprinted up the stairs only to find this innocent face looking back at me. He managed to make a COMPLETE disaster of himself and the room with a red ink pad. There was red ink all over the carpet, so he tried to clean it up with glue... After scrubbing the carpet and repainting the walls, I can now look back and laugh about it! Oh, Gavin...

I'M BACK! :)

I'M BACK! I'm sorry I haven't posted anything in a few months. Things were a little crazy over the holidays. I will definitely try and post more!

The most exciting recent event was Gavin's bday.I can't believe he is three! Joe and I decorated Gavin's room with balloons and streamers when he was sleeping, and when he woke up he was SO EXCITED! He loves Little Einsteins, so I made him a Rocket cake and we had pizza. (Rocket is one of the characters.) He had so much fun and loved all the presents! He is such a big boy!!
